Hey there! I am so glad you're interested in having me be your senior photographer! My name is MyKenzie Hill and I have been a professional photographer in Birmingham for over seven years now. I have loved photography since my first class in middle school! I started off working with portraits and have delivered over 700+ portrait galleries since 2018. Making my clients feel confident and truly beautiful in front of the camera is what it's all about for me! I strive to give you the most personable experience and I would be so honored to capture such a special time in your life!
What to Expect

After selecting a session date, time, and package, I will email over a contract and invoice to your parent or guardian where they can e-sign and
online pay the retainer fee to secure your date.

The planning begins! The planning begins! I want to know your vision for outfits, locations, etc. I am happy to suggest things as well to make this as stress free for you as possible.

Finalize details! About one to two weeks till your session, you will receive a schedule with all times, information, and all location addresses to ensure everything runs smoothly the day of your photoshoot!

Time to shoot! Depending on package, we will meet 1-3 hours before sunset at the first location. 24 hours after your photoshoot, you will receive a link to your proofs where you can heart your favorites -- this means you get to choose the ones I edit! After your selections are made, I will edit a few previews for you to have
while I complete your gallery.

Final gallery with all edited and retouched images (image count depends on package) will be delivered to your email within two weeks of you making your selections!
Day of session
We will meet at the pre-determined location. Before you leave your house, double check that you have all your outfits, shoes, accessories and any props you're needing for your photoshoot. If your first outfit wrinkles easily, I recommend arriving 10-15 minutes before your scheduled time to change into your look. I have a changing tent where you can do this! If you're not getting H&M, I always recommend bringing touch-up makeup to reapply in between locations.
locations
There are a variety of locations in the Birmingham area to choose from. Unless you are a college graduate planning to shoot on campus, with all of my clients, I wait to choose locations after your outfits are finalized. This makes it much easier when matching your outfits to locations! I location scout frequently ensuring that my clients have more exclusive spots and backgrounds for their looks!
payment
Your scheduled time and date will not be secured until your contract is e-signed by your parent or guardian (can be signed by college graduates) and $175 retainer fee is paid through the invoice. This retainer fee counts toward your session and is due upon booking. The remaining session fee is due before your photoshoot and can easily be paid through the invoice, cash, or my business venmo is also acceptable! Payment plans before your session is available. No images from your session will be released until your payment is made.

gallery
Turnaround time for the full gallery is about two weeks from when you make your selections. You will receive your high resolution edited and fully retouched images in an online gallery with the option to download on your device. There is no extra charge to download any of the images! You can also order professional-quality prints and graduation cards from your online gallery store. Please note, prints and cards is an extra cost. If you are interested in selecting your own images to be edited, read available add ons towards the end of the guide!
Changes to your session
Because I book most of my sessions months in advance, all retainer fees are non-refundable. If you need to reschedule for any personal emergencies, you may do so! Obviously, amount of weather reschedules vary since weather is always crazy in Alabama! I want weather and lighting to be perfect for your photoshoot so we will for sure reschedule if it's gross out! Packages can only be upgraded not downgraded.

FAQ
I am not good with posing. Do you help with this?
I have tons of experience in posing seniors! Some poses may feel super awkward, but clients always love the outcome! After 5 minutes of shooting, you will feel more comfortable with posing. If you have seen any posing you like, feel free to show me during your session!
Can you help me with my outfits?
Of course! If you give me an idea of what you like or want, I will browse online and send you links of different looks!
Who can I bring to my session?
Feel free to bring whomever! Family, friends, or significant other - it doesn't matter! A familiar face really helps if you're nervous during your session.
Can I order physical prints?
Yes! Professional quality prints and graduation cards are available through your gallery, I can provide examples if needed.
Can you retouch acne or anything I want out?
Yes! I will retouch your skin or any other blemishes, if needed; I like to keep it natural, so it's not too much.
What if it rains on our scheduled date?
The weather in Alabama is so unpredictable, so this has happened many times. Weather reschedules do not cost any extra and I leave dates open each month to be used for reschedules/etc. Emergency reschedules are totally acceptable too!
Can I add a filter on my images to match my instagram feed?
No! In the contract it says you can't post any altered images. If you are choosing me to be your senior photographer, please do not edit over my work because it misrepresents my brand!
